I'm going to add to this post over time, as I find more resources to the various continents and regions. This will be a single Post locater, where information sources can be obtained without major search and find activities. I will give the sources a quick examination to ensure their usefulness and quality of data. I will then add a link to them so that those studying can use this Post as a reference library.
Europe's European Union history can be found on historiasiglo20.org. The following Keele Site covers American Politics along side this US historical resource. Keele also covers other continent's recourses, it can be found on Keele School of Politics. There is plenty of useful information there and whilst some links aren't working, its still well worth a using. Eastern Asia's History, including Japan and Korea can be found at the following site Fordham.edu. The resource link set here for China is a condensed overview of China's history.
Asian Politics and Economics have plenty of activity which is capable of influencing the international political scene. One reasonable source of that information is The Asian Miracle and another on Political Economics.
I'm going to put a number of information links together to ensure you have access to the various international players who are actively effecting the international political scene, whether by virtue of their activities or economic power. The EU Institutions are powerful Economic and Political communities that also have strong politically driven Member States and the Institutes of the European Political Community
To all those who may be studying these subjects like Politics, Philosophy and Law or studying in general, I will attempt to leave what I hope will be one or two useful small tools, to support your adventure in education. Tools such as an essay check-list, which will ensure you are fulfilling all the elements required to complete the essay as set out in the question.
I created this tool, which I found of great use when considering a question that requires a methodology or qualified response. I devised this some years ago and hope it helps you to sharpen your value in a good methodology and approach in the Essay Plan
Democracy, in Greek demokratia (rule by the people), birth place Athens in Greece.
The original intention of this political system was to bring about the act of citizen participation in the decision making process. Directly or indirectly by way of voting and elected representative. Athens in the 4th century AD would have been described as a CityState with many other opposing forms of governors in control of the territories around Athens. Leading their own particular brand of state or territory control.
It has been overthrown in history and has had tyrannical takeovers. Democracy has had a revival in the last two hundred years, after a long period of obscurity. In more recent times, its character, has taken on a representative approach, expressing a more indirect approach to its character and development. There are those in the modern world, who have used the term to describe themselves, whilst there are little signs of the political system in reality. The term has been used as a veneer, over the top of the true nature of that type of government or the tyrannical governors.
If you were ask the question, where is the Birth place of the term we hear so often espoused in today's society 'Democracy' and what does it stand for, what would your answer be?
I would be extremely interested in the results to that question, if based on a reasonable group being asked in say a city centre. Well, what I'm going to do over the period ahead, is qualify a number of fundamental objects we today hold in great esteem, whilst possibly being unaware of just how fluid these principals are in reality, as well as their fragility.
Words like: Democracy, Justice, Choice, Freedom, Rights, Fairness, Equality and Liberty, just to name a few, are the values held up as the lamp of enlightenment and sophistication of a State or Country. To do any justice to these ideals, if you'll pardon the pun, these principles of a Just and Fair society, must be considered objectively and pragmatically in the approach to their study. If not, the possibility exists, that their rational qualification may continue to be fluid and so diluted.
I'm hopeful that the historical and philosophical journey we will go on, will be both interesting and entertaining. I had the pleasure of studying this subject 10 years ago and could not of guessed how it would impact on my life and character, and more importantly, my inner nature.
I began the process of formal education in my early thirties. I was self-employed in the construction industry. I had a good reputation for my practical skills, but my lack of formal education left me fumbling on many occasions. I was chastised on a number of occasions by those better educated, particularly in contractual and business terms. So I set about equipping myself with tools I felt necessary to take on the activities of business. With four children, my partner and the obvious home to keep, I set out on the path of education.
There was a statement that really struck a cord with my position at that time, it was "He who does not know his past, can not understand the present, so can not control the future."
Later I would find another candle to comfort me through the journey which was "Sweet hope that follows man's wondering purpose, treads by his side, gladdens his heart, and comforts his old age."
I have been restating those two quotes for more than 10 years now and they continue to mature like a great vintage wine. Getting deeper and with more body by each passing year, always making me smile with the regularity they express themselves in the activity of human intercourse.
